The concept of Por & Para can be very confusing with so many rules-so why not use Gracias por...in real life?
I have a short card that you can print on card stock or colored paper for students to write a small note of gratitude to a teacher, family member, or other important person.
Many students would choose a current teacher or a teacher from their past. Some years I have them choose 2 teachers. In this note they will use gracias por + infinitive and Para mi, ______ and give an opinion about the teacher or their class.
When students get to the quiz and see the gracias ____ on the quiz I always tell them to remember their card to their teacher or family member and they remember it well!
You can't believe the emails of thanks from those who have received these notes of gratitude. I love that they are practicing Spanish and recognizing the hard work of others at the same time.
