A great pre-test and post-test tool for students that is written entirely in the target language. Allows students to create either a real or imaginary profile for themselves (including choosing a type of animal as their new last name or symbol, per teacher discretion). Best used as a French 1 year-long profile page or as a review for French 2 and above. Special concepts and/or verbs are in bold. Focus on reading/writing proficiency rather than grammar and/or knowledge about the language.Asks for basic information (name, age, etc.), physical description, personality description, and a biography at the very end. Highly scaffolded except for the biography, which would best be completed toward the end of the year. French 1 and 2 students were able to complete much of it during the first week of school with the help of supplemental resources such as textbook, dictionary, and handouts.
