Looking for a creative speaking and writing activity to get students using the imperfect / conditional Si clauses in French in an authentic way? Here is an individual questionnaire for students to fill out about themselves and their partner.
Students complete sentences such as "Si j'étais un film, je serais..." or "Si j'étais riche, j'achèterais..." and then compare their answers with their partner and discuss why they selected each answer. Finally, students select their 5 favorite sentences to elaborate on and explain why they chose their answer and what it says about them.
This works great as an introduction to the Si+imparfait, conditional structure as well as a way to encourage creativity and speaking in the classroom.
