Are you a PBIS school? Do you use restorative practices in your classroom? Or are you looking for a way to increase the amount of positive interactions you have with your students? PBIS states that we should have a ratio of 4:1 positive to negative interactions with each one of our students.
One great way to achieve that goal is writing positive notes! My students love the positive incentive of receiving a note to take home to their parents, sharing about their day at school. This winter-themed resource is a great addition to your classroom management repertoire. Many of my students-including some of my more challenging students- would work extra hard if I told them I'd send home a positive note. This often worked better than other rewards they could earn.
It's such a simple, yet effective, way to build positive relationships with your students, and to increase communication with parents.
This product includes 7 different positive notes, in both color and black and white, with four notes to a page. Print them on Astrobrights paper for a colorful result, or print on white paper and your students can use their own creativity to color them. All the clip art is winter-themed without being Christmasy, so you can use these notes with all of your students and past the month of December.
I've also included a page of positive statements you can use for those times when your brain is stuck on "great job!" and you want to give more specific feedback.
