Ever struggle getting your students on task?
Have difficulty getting your students to do something without having to ask 50 times?
Tired of yelling in order for things to be accomplished?
I've been there! Last year, I had an awful time getting my classes to respond to any form of discipline I would implement. Then, I decided to swallow my power and pride, and I stepped out of my comfort zone by introducing a positive behavior incentive plan. I created 1 for individuals and 1 for the class as a whole (this one to come as a freebie). I use both at the same time and have seen amazing results!
What you get:
- Colorful version of different reward passes
- Gray scale version on reward passes
- Colorful and gray scale version of ticket menu
- Personal use and printing how-to
I had one student who ended up raising his grade by 1 letter grade due to these incentives and another get his phone back from his parents after being grounded. They appreciate the variety of choices and know they can get rewards for doing things like:
Getting an A on a test (2 tickets)
Getting a B on a test (1 ticket)
Volunteering to read/share/answer questions (1-2 tickets)
Doing things without me having to ask (1 ticket)
and so on.
I have noticed a huge difference in my classroom when I follow this method over my shouting and punishing. I hope this can be helpful for your classes too! :)
