Our students are awesome and we love sharing that with their families...but we don't always have the time to pick up the phone or send an email. That's what these mini positive notes are for! Simply copy the pages on colored paper, cut them apart, and leave them in a file. Anytime one of your students shows an random act of kindness or blows you away, grab a note and send it home!
In addition to using these as surprise notes home, I've used them as a positive behavior reinforcement tool. Each morning, secretly choose a student and pay closer attention to that student throughout the day. If they earn a positive note, announce it at the end of the day and share your note with the class. If the student does not earn it, you don't tell the class who you were watching...you just explain that the person unfortunately, didn't earn a note today. This helped students stay focused on their behavior throughout the day because they didn't know if they were getting 'spied' on!
Have fun spreading the positive vibes!
