This Rainbow Behavior Chart was created for use a school that emphasized positive phrases on behavior charts instead of the the typical less-positive phrases like "parent-contact."
I have included a photo of how I used this clip chart in my classroom. I started my kinders in the middle at I Am Ready to Learn, but other teachers started at the bottom at I Am Here. Starting at the bottom gives the students more room to grow to get to the top. You may want to start older students at the bottom, and younger students in the middle so they can be more successful at reaching the top by the end of the day. You can also use this chart as a means for you students to “sign in.” Each morning when the students enter, they can put their clip on I Am Here.
I have also included “mini behavior charts” that can be taped into a student’s folder. If your students record their color each day on a calendar, include the mini behavior chart so parents can understand what the colors mean.
