Stopping your lessons to reinforce behavior is distracting and can get students off track quickly, but these behavior tools let you communicate with students and still continue on! By quietly placing the stop sign on a student's desk, they know they need to reevaluate their behavior and change something. On the other hand, placing the "Keep Up The Good Work" square on a student's desk lets them know that they are doing a great job and you've noticed!
If a student's behavior does not change and they've had a hard day, they can fill out the "Oops! I Made A Mistake Today..." sheet in order to reflect upon their behavior. This sheet is signed by the student, the student's parent, and is initialed by you upon its return. It's a great way to keep a record of behavior in your classroom.
If a student has done exceptionally well in class, you can quickly fill out the "Woohoo! I Did Great In Class Today!" sheet and send it home as a praise note! Who wouldn't want to receive one of those? :)
