-10 melodic patterns in stick notation (rhythm with solfège underneath) with a colored background and with a black and white background (20 cards total)
-10 melodic patterns in staff notation (do clef) with a colored background and with a black and white background
-10 melodic patterns in staff notation (no clef but the first pitch is shown) with a colored background and a black and white background
-Teacher Key with all of the patterns listed
Assess your student's ability to hear and identify different melodic patterns. Have them work alone or in small groups.
The rhythms included in these patterns are Ta (quarter note), Ti-Ti (eighth notes), quarter rest, Tom Ti (dotted quarter note/eighth note), and Tim-Ka (dotted eighth note/sixteenth note). The other melodic pitches used are do/re/mi/so/la. Print the cards on card stock for long-term use. Use the cards for additional activities such as piecing together known songs, composing new songs, performing the cards on instruments, etc.
