Product Description
In this inquiry-based project, students create a question and answer interview session with a patient having PTSD. The website for the National Center for PTSD can be used for the students' research. After researching PTSD, students create a five question interview (questions and answers) with a fictitious patient having PITSD. The students then create a three pronged therapy plan. In the final component of the project, students examine the long-term effects of PTSD by examing what issues the patient will be addressing ten years after the trauma. Please keep in mind that the students are not actually interviewing patients with PTSD. I have used this project for the past five years and it provides a detailed look at the long and short term impact of trauma on individuals. It also provides a forum for students to begin examining therapy strategies. This download includes two pages of detailed directions and a four page graphic organizer where the students can write their answers.
