Product Description
Collect postcards from around the world. have students send you postcards from vacations. Hang postcards around the classroom or library. Hang maps of the USA and the World. have students look at and read postcards for weeks. Each students chooses one postcard to study and research. The students researches the picture/ place on this postcard. Use National geography magazines, books of the states and countries, and Internet sites to locate acts about the postcard/ place/ state/ city/ country. Students record facts about the city. then students choose a place they have visited and research that place. students make their own postcard with a picture on one side and facts on the other in fine print on the bottom of the postcard. Students write a message on the card and mail it to someone they know. the message should describe the weather, activities they have participated in while on vacation, who they are with and the best thing about visiting that place. students share the postcards with their friends.
