I work with ESE/LD learners. One of the requirements at my school is to ensure there is a monthly activity so our students are able to sharpen their PR skills when working with each other.
This activity focuses on parts of an animal cell for learners to identify. Students are able to work through the worksheets effectively since the identifiable parts can be associated with building in every day life.
This is a complete unit that includes information and pictures for student to easily identify the parts of a cell. Students are encouraged to build their cell cities from special passions they hold. Cities can include cartoons (Bikini Bottom - Sponge Bob) to sport cities such as the NBA and NFL. This activity was well received from even my most remote art students who do not like drawing. Lots of fun and keeps kids working together because everyone must participate.
