Product Description
This product was made to accompany the book "Punctuation Takes a Vacation" by Robin Pulver. You will want to revisit this fun text many times as you use these posters and postcards to introduce each punctuation mark and its function. The posters and postcards in this product would also make a great bulletin board display!

Included in this product:
Punctuation posters{question mark, period, exclamation point, comma, apostrophe, colon, quotation marks}. I like to enlarge each poster so the children can use them as a tool during writing workshop. This can be done at a commercial copy center.

Punctuation postcards:These are a recreated version from the text. These are great tools to use during whole class discussions, or could also be used by the students as a self-correcting tool.

Punctuation postcards {student version}These activity sheets are missing punctuation marks. Students should use the clues to figure out which punctuation mark is missing and insert it in the proper places.

Blank postcard writing activity:Students will write their own postcard to send to their favorite punctuation mark (or one chosen by the teacher). They will persuade that punctuation mark to come back from vacation by explaining why it is so important to writers, and including an example of how they use it in their writing. This activity may also be used as an assessment tool for each punctuation mark.

Punctuation Problems:This is a recreated version of the letter Mr. Wright’s class wrote to the punctuation marks. Students will use their editing skills and knowledge of the proper use of punctuation to correct the mistakes in the letter. This may also be used as an assessment piece.
