This assignment assesses a student's ability to read a description of a person and draw that person and his ability to write a description of a person based on a picture. First, students are asked to translate 10 short sentences (ex. Marie is blond) and then to draw Marie. Then they are asked to write a similar 10 sentence description of another person in a picture. This assignment targets the use of ETRE versus AVOIR and adjective agreement when describing people. The context provides the opportunity to practice the concepts of C'EST versus IL EST (c'est un garcon. Il est grand) and using the article DE before a preceding, plural adjective (DE grandes oreilles).
This activity pairs nicely with POUR DECRIRE LE CORPS guided notes and GUESS WHO: ASKING ABOUT PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES powerpoint and quiz.
