They want each student to not only be on the correct level, but also know exactly what their PowerGoal is. I think that it is hard enough to come up with a PowerGoal that is in student friendly language and is not a PowerWord. I have come up with 4 PowerGoals for each reading level RTM-White.
12 - RTM Power Goals
4 - 1 Yellow Power Goals
8 - 2 Yellow Power Goals
12 - 3 Yellow Power Goals
20 - 1G Power Goals
20 - 2G Power Goals
20 - 1B Power Goals
20 - 2B Power Goals
16 - 1R Power Goals
16 - 2R Power Goals
4 - White Power Goals
-Reading Strategy Cards with Pictures
There is only four goals per grade level, but these are the goals I found to pop up the most for my students. This is also editable, so you can change the goal to fit the needs of your students.
I have also created two different pages for each reading level. One is with a dark background. The other is with a light background. I know that we don't like waisting too much color ink. There are examples of both. If you chose to do the white background version of the goal, you can always print it on colored paper. Save that ink! :)
In my classroom, I use these by simply printing them off, and handing them to the students while I am conferencing with them. My school was able to order lanyards for each student's PowerGoal. (I know, I know it is wonderful) I have students keep these in their lanyards. This way anytime any teacher around the school asks them what their goal is they will know right away, even if it was just changed that day. The color of the car also will help students remember their reading level.
I have their pictures on a bulletin board with small command hooks underneath them. Once students have mastered their goal I hole punch the top of it and hang it on the hook. My students get so excited!
I also have reading strategy cards that have pictures on them.

THERE ARE NOT POWER GOALS ABOVE A 3RD GRADE "WHITE" READING LEVEL.
