6 - Reading Strategies with Pictures
This is also editable, so you can change, add or delete the goal to fit the needs of your students.
I have also created two different pages for each reading level. One is with a colored background. The other is with a white background. I know that we don't like waisting too much color ink. There are examples of both. If you chose to do the white background version of the goal, you can always print it on colored paper. Save that ink! :)
In my classroom, I use these by printing them off, laminating them, and handing them to the students while I am conferencing with them. My school was able to order lanyards for each student's PowerGoal. (I know, I know it is wonderful) I have students keep these in their lanyards. This way anytime any teacher around the school asks them what their goal is they will know right away, even if it was just changed that day. The color of the car also will help students remember their reading level.
I have their pictures on a bulletin board with small command hooks underneath them. Once students have mastered their goal I hole punch the top of it and hang it on the hook. My students get so excited!
