This is an activity for partners that I use for my freshman general science class and conceptual physics class. It could be used for more advanced middle school students. It focuses on Work and Power and has students consider the effect of time on their power output after doing the activity and some simple calculations. The teacher will need to gather a variety of masses and stopwatches beforehand. From passing out to completion of the analysis questions usually takes 30-45 minutes. Since students will produce individual data, no answer key is possible.
