Power Partner Reading (PPR) is a reading strategy that involves students reading silently, reading out loud, summarizing out loud, asking/answering questions out loud, and writing summaries. This PPT provides easy-to-follow- instructions for students and teachers.
PPR helps students improve their reading, listening, comprehension, and summary skills.
There is a slide included that teaches students how to summarize articles. This PPT is designed to be used with the reading of any articles (not provided), but it can be adapted to ANY reading materials.

STEP 1 – Write your name and assigned number (partner ONE or TWO) on your paper.
STEP 2 –(EVERYONE) Read the assigned section silently.
Step 3 – Read out loud.
Step 4 – Summarize out loud.
Step 5 – Ask out loud any two original (your own) questions or questions from the provided list. (PARTNER – Answer out loud.)
Step 6 – Ask out loud any two original (your own) questions or DIFFERENT questions from the provided list. (PARTNER – Answer out loud.)
Step 7 – Write a summary
