I created this power point to help my students know when to use so, because, however and although. This presentation contains 56 slides. It begins by sharing the rules for when to use each with example sentences. The second part of the presentation is guided practice. Students are given a sentence and then choose the correct word. Answer choices are listed A,B,C, and D making this easy to use with a signaled response. After each sentence is completed, the following slide shows the correct word and reviews why it is the correct word. This constantly reinforces what each of the words actually mean and how to use them. The last part of the presentation is an exit ticket with 10 slides. Each slide has sentence with the word missing. Students can easily write their answers on a piece of paper (again multiple choice). The last slide has the answers for the exit ticket making it easy to correct.
I try to create power points that are not too overwhelming to students. I keep the transitions and animations fairly basic, and I use large font. It is important to me that my presentations do not distracting the learning with too much on a screen or too much movement. I also want kids to easily be able to read the text even those in the back of the room.
Please let me know if you find any typos or transition/animation problems. I will promptly correct the error. I go over and over these but sometimes I miss some thing.
I hope this can be of use to you in your teaching!
