This is a fully differentiated lesson aimed at teaching Physics: Generating Electricity. This lesson looks at the workings of a power station.

This lesson has 5 learning objectives that are structured in the IDEAL format:

*Identify the main parts of a power station and their function.

*Describe the energy transformations that happen in a power station.

*Explain, using calculation, the efficiency of the different sections of a power station.

*Apply your understanding of Sankey diagrams to produce a Sankey diagram for a power station.

*Link your knowledge of efficiency to explain how you could improve the efficiency of a power station

This lesson is designed with a challenge objective and challenge questions throughout to stretch your most able students, whilst supporting your LA students.
