Product Description
This is one of my favorite lessons to present to my kids! It is structured with clear steps that are easily followed!

* Students learn that there is more than one way to factor a quadratic trinomial.

* Students review finding factors for numbers by making combinations of all prime factors found by making a factor tree

* Students learn 6 simple steps that they can use to factor by "GROUPING"

* Students use substitution to employ the process known as "Grouping" in order to create a four term polynomial from three terms on a quadratic trinomial.

* Students learn to identify a "prime" polynomial

•. Once factoring is complete, students learn to check

* Once a quadratic trinomial has been factored and checked for accuracy, students use the Zero-Product Property in solving.

* Students use the Vertical Motion Model to solve real-life problems involving a diver who dives from a cliff into the ocean.

* Students learn about analyzing Vertical Motion Models to determine whether a solution is reasonable or not reasonable.

* The lesson is aligned with CCSS

^ I have included a short "follow-up assessment" to provide immediate feedback as to whether or not students understand the material.

* Also included in the lesson is a set of 15 GUIDED NOTES to encourage active participation during the lesson, and to provide a reference for students in preparation for homework, quizzes, tests, and final exams.

* I am confident that students will find the lesson manageable as well as enjoyable, while instructors should find the lesson practical.

Please enjoy!
