Description
This PowerPoint takes students through the basic color words in German using images of colorful German postage stamps. Students’ work with the stamps gives them an early taste of real-life language use and culturally accurate imagery.

Options for Use
1) Classroom Presentation & Practice: introduce students to the color words for the first time or practice what they have already learned from the textbook, using choral recitation, individual volunteers, or a cold-calling technique
2) Independent Practice: assign students to work through the PowerPoint on their own as homework
In the first half of the PowerPoint presentation, each image is presented with the relevant vocabulary item(s). This can be used as a first pass through the images.
In the second half of the PowerPoint presentation, each image is initially presented on its own and then, on a mouse-click, with the relevant vocabulary item(s). This can be used to quiz students.
