This is a 77-slide presentation written to be used with Magruder's American Government, Chapter 3: The Constitution, but could be used for any Constitution unit. In addition to the chapter content, it includes summaries of every Article and Amendment of the Constitution. It also includes a variety of mnemonic devices to help your students memorize different parts of the Constitution, including all 27 Amendments. Using these, my students easily memorize all 27 Amendments in one 45-minute class period!
The presentation also covers the six basic principles of the Constitution, including popular sovereignty, limited government, separation of powers, checks and balances, judicial review, and federalism. The amendment process is covered, as well as ways of changing the Constitution through other means. Slides include relevant pictures and a few discussion questions.
This presentation could be used to prepare any student for a test on the U.S. Constitution.
