Every French teacher's worst nightmare...teaching the subjunctive mood. I'll be totally honest- it still took *lots* of practice to have it really stick for students since there's nothing comparable in English, but if you keep referring to the examples I use in here, it does help.
This PowerPoint includes embedded timers, warm-up activities, lesson objectives, exit ticket activities, and information on the subjunctive mood.
The first thing I emphasize is simply how to conjugate a verb in the subjunctive mood. Next, I introduce the irregular verbs that have either one or two roots. Then, students are shown which stem to use when, along with the conjugation for être. Finally, I have explanations on when the subjunctive should be used. I introduce the concept of "concreteness" as well as the six categories for subjunctive, and then explain the difference *in English for clarity* between when to use the indicative as opposed to the subjunctive in these circumstances.
Courage tout le monde!
