Be more effective and save time when writing your PowerPoint lessons. If you want to start using PowerPoint in your classroom this is the template for you.
I've been writing math lessons on PowerPoint for 10 years and I think I finally perfected this time consuming task. I’ve created a template that consists of 11 key components (1) warm up (2) admission ticket (3) prior skills (4) spiraling problems (5) title of the lesson with the goals of the day (6) the hook (7) teacher model (8) guided structure practice (9) checking for understanding (10) independent practice (11) exit ticket.
By using a PowerPoint to present your math lesson you are freeing up yourself to be more mobile around your classroom. I’ve been using this template with my 6th grade math, pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry students. With this structure I am able to make time to have my students practice the new skill in class and it gives me time to work with my intervention students. Having this template also helps me stay focused and organized during my lectures.
On each PowerPoint slide I have include notes to help you set up the slide in the most effective way possible. If you need help or ideas, I have included my e-mail. If you are a first year teacher this template is a must have. If you are a veteran teacher that is trying to incorporate more technology into your lessons, then this is the way to go.
