This “Powerfully Perfect Poetry Packet 1” contains 7 poems that I wrote with embedded questions that include sections to write down fluency times (students should read each poem three times and improve their times after each read). A teacher can quickly glance to see if a student’s fluency is improving on each poem (the graph in the preview section will also make this a poetry/math activity). The embedded questions after each poem focus on cause and effect, multiple choice, sequencing, vocabulary, and a fun sketching activity (visualization). This poetry packet does not have an answer key, but it really doesn’t need one. In the preview section, you will find a great sheet students can use to create a triple bar graph of their fluency scores. Enjoy!
