This powerpoint comes with an anticipatory set where I ask students what the most popular dances of the time are and write them on the board. If they come to the front of the classroom and do the dance if front of the whole class I give extra credit. Then I show them a youtube video of the charleston dance which was popular during the 1920s. After the video we talk about the 1920s. I use the powerpoint as a guide and go more in depth explaining while they can write down the definitions and notes from the powerpoint. When I get to Babe Ruth I explain how he would be the Michael Jordan of his time. When we talk about advertising I reference Mad Men and when we get to credit I talk about credit cards and debt today.
