Dr. Edward Fry identified the 600 most commonly used words in reading and organized them into six lists. This activity provides practice with a sample of the phrases in the fourth 100 list.
In this download, you will receive 24 Phrase Cards, each with a graphic to suggesting possible context connection for using the phrase in reading or writing. Students read the phrases in different voices, use one of two Sorting Mats to categorize by connection graphic, then choose one of two worksheets to make a connection and turn the phrase into a complete sentence.
Watch my store for packages containing activities using the complete list of Fry Phrases for each of the six lists.
