No matter the age, writing your own storybook is fun! It also practices those Common Core Standards for writing. My product “Practice Those Common Core Writing Standards: Write a Storybook!” is a product that can be used over and over, year after year because I’ve included 5 different front covers and back covers and 9 different inside pages. The pages are made in “landscape” orientation and there are two pages per sheet. You can mix them for your storybook, or use a single inside page template throughout. I’ve included a rubric that you can adjust as needed. It is based on the Common Core Standards.
USES FOR STORYBOOK TEMPLATES
*Work on those Common Core Writing Standards.
*Beginning of year—Introduce yourself and family by completing a storybook about your life.
*Use as a novel project.
*Use to demonstrate understanding of reading skills such as flashback and foreshadowing, propaganda techniques, characterization, setting, plot, symbolism, figurative language, etc.
