6 Free Response question for AP Calculus AB designed to mirror the questions likely to be seen on the AP Exam.
AP Calculus AB exams were analyzed over 10 years (2005-2014) to determine patterns in questioning and topics. Students were then asked to check their analysis by looking at the most recent exams to verify the patterns. Success!
(The analysis file itself is in the process of being updated. It is organized-by-topic table, breaks the recent AP free response exam questions into specific topics (1 such topic would be volume and area), also showing individual parts to each question over the years. The patterns become very clear, and some assumptions can be made towards future exams. I will upload this file as soon as it is completed.)
Based on the results of this analysis, a practice free response section of 6 questions was created based on likely question types.
The practice exam is a .doc so it is editable should you wish to alter a question. Newer/Older versions of Word may cause some issues, a pdf file is also included. There are 12 pages in this file - each question (with a,b,c (d)) are spread over two pages. 2 Questions have calculator use, 4 do not, just like the AP exam.
A full set of solutions is included. The document is a .pdf file.
A marking guide is included. Each question is marked out of 9 for a total of 54 points. The document is also 12 pages as it is written on the exam document.
Can be used a review, practice, homework, or a final course exam. This was done by my class as an exam practice this year, and seems to be error - free! :)
