This is a quick practice with a partner after when to drop e before a suffix is taught. Based on Kagan practices of cooperative learning, I place the sheet in a plastic sleeve. Students are paired up (one partner is always A ie., the tallest, shortest, longest hair etc. other person is partner B) Students have one sheet, one dry erase pen, and take turns deciding what to do to add the suffix, and write their answer in the third column. The partner who is not writing coaches, and agrees or helps the partner with the decision. Fun practice and quick! These words come from our stories so you can change and adjust for whatever grade level or whatever words would be appropriate. Kids enjoy and it's a quick way to assess and see if you need more instruction in this area.
