PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Using Robert Frost’s poem, “The Road Not Taken,” students will review important poetic devices, close read and annotate the poem, view supporting video clips, view a TED Talk on choice, view a clip from “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” and Star Trek: The Next Generation, evaluate a writing prompt, and examine a good student sample essay. These lessons prepares students for AP Literature and Language exams, Common Core extended response assessments, American Literature Course exams, the SAT essay and critical thinking activities.

In this resource there is a unique detailed rubric that can be used to score Socratic Seminars in a way that encourages organic fluid discussions. In the guide there is a step by step explanation on how to conduct a fish-bowl discussion with the rubric. The Socratic seminar acts as a poetry explication.
