These cards work well when reviewing verb tenses. Students have to write a sentence with the verb given. The point of the cards is to make sure students can choose a subject that agrees with the verb.
I like to print these on cardstock and laminate and then cut out on the dotted line. I give one to each student and have them write their sentence in their notebook. When they finish, they can switch with a classmate.
As an extension activity, students can come up with a verb of their own and write it on a flashcard. Students can switch cards with their classmates and write the sentences with verb/subject agreement.
This activity is aligned with ELA Common Core Standard 4.L.1.a & b, but can be adapted for 3rd and 5th.
