This is an entire collection of practice worksheets, quizzes, and a chapter test for the first chapter in Pre-Algebra. It is based on the McDougal Littel course, but it should correspond pretty well with almost any standard text. There are three versions of each item (four for coordinate plane) with unique problems on each version. Structure and consistency is maintained across the versions.
This means if one student has -4+11, another version WILL NOT have something like -9+3, which is a different concept. Numbers are randomized, but the conceptual structure is the same.
If you want materials for chapter 2: Practice Sheets, Quizzes, Test - Pre-Algebra, Single-step Equations
These were all created from my ExamView Question banks
, which are available if you prefer more customization.
1-1: Expressions and Variables Practice - 21 problems: evaluate when z = . . ., translate words into expression, write algebraic expression for a scenario
1-2: Powers and Exponents Practice - 24 problems: write the product using an exponent; write in words, repeated multiplication, and evaluate; find areas and volumes of cubes and squares
1-3: Order of Operations Practice - 36 problems: 21 numerical expression, 15 algebraic expression to evaluate when . . .
1-4: Comparing and Ordering Integers Practice - 27 problems: compare with < or >, absolute value and opposite, evaluate with a negative integer, order lists of integers
1-5: Adding Integers Practice - 26 problems: 20 with two numbers, six with three numbers, a mix of single digit and two-digit numbers
1-6: Adding and Subtracting Integers Practice - 31 problems: 27 with two numbers, a mix of of adding and subtracting positive and negative integers
1-7: Multiplying and Dividing Integers Practice - 31 problems: a mix of evaluating to find product or quotient, determine positive or negative without calcualation
1-8: Coordinate Plane Practice - 3 problems: 1) draw a graph and plot five ordered pairs, 2) write ordered pair and quadrant for five plotted points, 3) graph three points add -4 to y-coordinate, graph, and compare. The third problem is not unique across versions. The first page has unique versions of the first two problems, and there are four versions of this practice.
