In this activity, students first practice reading comprehension while reinforcing the use of the preterite in Spanish. Students each part of the story and draw a picture in each box that matches the information in the text. This helps with the strategy of visualization and helps pinpoint vocabulary that students are struggling with. On the back, students answer 5 simple questions about the story. I had my students answer in complete sentences, again reinforcing the use of the preterite. Finally, students practice conjugating verbs in the past tense to match given subjects. "Hacer" has a * next to it to remind students that it is an oddball verb with an irregular conjugation.
