NEW!! Check my TPT store to find my NEW Pragmatic Language Progress Report that is intended for use along with this informal social skills assessment. Once you've completed your social skills therapy or class, use the Pragmatic Language Progress Report to communicate skills and progress to parents.
Recent UPDATES AND ADDITIONS! An entire "Tips for Completion" section was added to help you more accurately and effectively complete this checklist. This checklist was designed for teachers and parents to complete as well as speech pathologists and special educators. Parents and teachers may not be too familiar with the language of social pragmatics, so the "Tips for Completion" section was added to provide assistance and ideas to help you quickly and easily assess the student's social skills.
Previous revisions: changed language from language geared toward parent to now being more general so teachers and parents can use to informally evaluate their social skills, added more questions relating to social awareness and perspective taking, added more questions under all sections, & added additional questions for written response.
This questionnaire is great to use with parents and other teachers to gather valuable information about the child's social skills. Add this informal assessment information in your language evaluations, use to plan and develop your therapy and activities, or use to evaluate progress made.
Use this questionnaire to gather information from parents informally about your students' social pragmatic skills. This questionnaire contains a series of yes/no questions relating to the following areas:
Rules of Conversation, Tone of Voice, Non-Verbal Language, Common Courtesies, and Friendship
