This Pre-K packet consists of 10 different center activities. The centers focus on number recognition, one to one correspondence, uppercase and lowercase letter match, practice write number words (one-ten), beginning sound recognition, recognizing what comes next in a pattern, sorting objects by color, counting syllables, and recognizing rhyming words. Below is a list of the activity titles and objectives for each activity.
Snowflake Count: The students will practice counting numbers 0-12 while counting the number of snowflakes around the snowman. Then, the students will find the hat with the correct number and place it on the correct snowman’s head.
Colorful Mittens: The students will match each mitten with an uppercase letter to the corresponding lowercase letter.
More Marshmallows Please!: The students will look at the number located on the outside of each mug and count out the correct number of marshmallows placing them on the correct number mat.
Number Practice: The students will complete the writing station activity and write their number words (one-ten).
Beginning Sounds: The students will look at a picture and place a clothespin on top of the letter that makes the same beginning sound.
What Comes Next? The students will complete a pattern by determining what comes next.
Penguin Count: The students will count ten frames and match each ten frame to the correct number.
Mitten Sort: The students will be asked to sort mittens into three piles according to their color.
Rhyming Mittens: The students will match the rhyming images.
Count and Clip Syllables: The students will count syllables and mark how many syllables are in a word using a clothespin. (includes words with 1 and 2 syllables)
