This document serves an example of pro-active guidelines for volunteers that have worked well in Early Childhood classrooms. A short paragraph addresses each of the following topics: Arrival, Relationships, Guiding Student Learning, Multiple Adult Helpers" The Challenge, Confidentiality, Responsibility and Conclusion.
It is designed to be given to the volunteer well before the first scheduled session in the classroom. This allows time for questions /clarification. This design was specific to a particular situation with many adult volunteers, as well as students with management challenges.
