This kit is intended to help introduce little learners to music theory and instruments. The first 10 pages are posters intended to help children understand the difference between instruments. It might be prudent to print both the blank definition poster as well as the poster with the instrument images to use as an introduction and then a quiz to test comprehension!
The following four pages of tiles can be used to:
1. Sort onto the appropriate instrument definition posters
2. Matching game to help children learn different instruments
3. Add to the stage with the dice game (Pg. 15)
Next there are beginning sound clip cards to help children review the names of the instruments and also practice identifying beginning sounds.
Then there are three pages to introduce children to different rhythms. Print out the posters, then cut and glue them together, with a popsicle stick in the middle to help spice up your music time!
Remember, guide your children to learn what you are trying to teach them, but don’t be afraid to let them teach you a little something on the way!
