This skills checklist can be used for quick documentation while students are working in centers. It can also be used as documentation to support the PK SLT Assessment. Simply write the child's name, circle the time of year (Fall, Winter, Spring), and write tally marks when you see the child perform the skill. I personally put one, two, or three tally marks to match the key on the PK SLT Assessment. This checklist has been used in my classroom successfully and can be placed in students' portfolios as documentation. The checklist is aligned with the Louisiana's Birth to Five Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS). This checklist has also been successfully used in an ECSE PK classroom with children who have special needs.
