Two assessments, one for the start of the unit and one for the end of the unit. The first part of both assessments is a 5 item matching with figurative language terms. Assumes knowledge of simile, metaphor, and idiom. The second part of the assessments utilizes either a poem from William Blake or Langston Hughes to ask students to identify examples of personification and imagery and to defend their examples.
Great for when you have to track student's progress such as in Ohio with our Teacher Based Teams!
This is a short but to the point item. Each assessment should take no more than 15-20 minutes to administer.
Answer keys are included.
