Hands on, fun activities inspire most children and this resource helps motivate them to learn to read the Pre-Primer Dolch Words.
I have divided the Pre-Primer Dolch Words into four lists so you have the choice of practising the words in sets of ten or you can do them altogether. The activities include:
1) Shade The Stars Sheets – children colour the focus word
2) Place The Counters Sheets – children can place a counter or object on the focus word. Alternatively, get children to cut out words and do a word sort
3)Bingo Marker Sheets – children use a marker to highlight focus word. You might choose to time how long a child takes to make the activity more fun!
These worksheets could be used for morning activities, literacy centres or independent work.
The Pre-Primer Dolch Words are: the, to, and, a, I, you, it, in, said, for, up, look, is, go, we, little, down, can, see, not, one, my, me, big, come, blue, red, where, jump, away, here, help, make, yellow, two, play, run, find, three, funny.
These worksheets have been written in NSW Foundation font.
