This NO PREP packet contains 40 Pre-Primer sight word worksheets. One for each of the following words: the, to, and, you, it, in, a, said, for, up, look, is, go, I, we, little, down, can, see, not, one, my, me, big, come, blue, red, where, jump, away, here, help, make, yellow, two, play, run, find, three, funny.

Each sheet focuses on the following activities:

Coloring the letters in the word: In this coloring activity students will find and color the letters that make up the sight word in focus.

Tracing the word: Students will be able to trace the specified sight word twice using proper letter formation. This will help them practice proper penmanship.

Find and circling the word: Students will find the specified sight word within a group of different words with varying fonts. The variety and styles of fonts used will help to promote both an increase in reading concentration and a better recall of the words they have read.

Writing the word in the correct box: This activity helps students to recognize letter shapes and differentiate between small, tall and fall letters within a word. Being able to determine letter shapes helps to reinforce the correct ways of writing letters.

Filling in the missing letters: Students will fill in the missing letters to complete the sight word.

Writing the word in a sentence: Students will write the sight word being focused on within the gap(s) of a sentence. Sentences build on from each other using the previously learnt sight words. Most sentences are rebus sentences with pictures being used in place of nouns - the pictures help to consolidate sight words by keeping them the focus. It also helps the sheets to remain suitable for a class of mixed reading abilities.

Building the word: In this cut and paste activity students will cut, re-arrange and correctly paste the letter tiles to build the given sight word.

Coloring the vowels that appear in the word: This coloring activity is a simple way to emphasize vowels. The letter tiles from the ‘Build it’ activity are designed in a way that students may color in the vowels once they have built the word.

Words 'a' and 'I': The worksheets for these particular two words include a small roll and read balloon game to recap the previously learnt sight words. This game appears in place of the following activities: 'Color the letters', 'Fill in the gaps', 'Build it' and 'Color the vowels'.
