A tactile/ multisensory approach to reinforce the sight words

Do you need a resource where students can quickly and accurately recognize the sight words?

This is the perfect multi-sensory center that can be integrated during your literacy centers, small groups, or during intervention. Students can write the sight words using the sight word cards and their finger, using a paint brush, or a Q-Tip. You will notice an enormous growth in just two days!

This center includes cards for each sight word (four cards per sheet) a recording sheet, and the instructions on how to prepare the Ziploc bags.

Sight words included:
a, my, the, I, like, can, am, to, go, put, in, do, see, you, have, no, at, it, is, we, look, she, not, he, for, me, some, with, said, be, on, this, they, all, come, was, that, had, from, are, but, an, by, his, were, of, us, up, what, play.


How to prepare and use this hands-on center:

Things you need: Gallon size Ziploc bag, glitter (optional), food coloring, hair gel (dollar store).
Squeeze in the hair gel (half of the bottle )
Add food coloring and glitter
Seal the bag and mix it all together, put it on a piece of white paper, and start writing

If you wish to remove the Ziploc print from the bags all you need to do is lightly rub the white letters and symbols with a little nail polish remover using a cotton ball or sponge.

Students will have the sight word cards next to the bag and copy it. Once the students wrote the sight word, they will have to write it on the recording sheet.
