This primary source analysis contains five written excerpts and two political cartoons from the pre-World War II era that asks students to evaluate and analyze them using SOAPSTONE. The written excerpts are from a variety of sources- a book, a speech, a radio broadcast, and two quotes. The political cartoons are both from David Low and are about Adolf Hitler's aggressive actions in Europe leading up to the Munich Conference. The SOAPSTONE assignment asks students to address the written excerpts separately from the visuals. The last part of the assignment asks students to consider all seven primary sources and use them to reflect and write about the situation in Europe in 1938.
