Use this pre-test vs. post-test graph to offer quick and valid feedback to your students and their parents. The students write in the appropriate “I can” statement related to the standard. Then, they graph their results from their pre and post tests. It is now very easy for the teacher to assign a standards based grade to the student based on their growth within the standard. I’ve used this successfully with both math and language arts standards. The students are so proud to see what they’ve achieved and new learning targets for each student are very clear to you as the teacher.
