This is the deluxe version of my free Cooperative Grouping tool for PreK - 3rd grade. This deluxe version includes additional features, detailed examples, and information for using this in professional development to help colleagues learn how to use this template in their own classrooms!
This Cooperative Grouping Template is a great tool to use for young children and allows the teacher or facilitator to easily move learners around into different grouping configurations very quickly with very little confusion.
PLEASE NOTE: The system for using these tokens is the same as my other "Cooperative Learning Made Easy" products, but the tokens in this pack have been redesigned for a younger age group.
It’s a great time-saver in all classrooms and can also be used with adults! The template is basic enough for elementary students to understand, but the use of the tool can be complex enough to use in trainings or meetings with adults. I have used this quite a bit in my own classrooms and very successfully when facilitating professional development.
After downloading and printing the template you can cut the individual "tokens" apart and give one to each individual. Use the grouping guide printed at the bottom of the page to quickly and easily move individuals from pairs to small groups of 4-5 to larger groups of 10.
TIP: If you have more students than there are tokens on the template, I find it very easy to simply print a second sheet and have a few duplicate tokens in the class.
What you will get in this deluxe version:
-- New tokens that include additional markers to help you create additional grouping configurations. This increases the possibilities for different types and sizes of groups!
-- A detailed example of how to use this for learning activities
-- A Professional Development agenda that can be used "as is" or modified to fit your needs for helping colleagues learn more about cooperative learning and how to use this tool in their classrooms
-- A chart to help you -- and your students -- keep track of token assignments if used throughout the semester or year
I hope you will find this resource useful as you work to incorporate more engaging cooperative learning in your classroom!
