Part 1: Rhyming
1. Rhyming Memory Match Cards
Practice rhyming with these memory match rhyming cards.
2. Connect the Rhyme
Connect the rhyming words (pictures) These sheets are differentiated. Some have Pre-writing lines and pictures only. Some have pictures with written words.
3. Rhyming Word Sorts
Sort the rhyming words either on paper or into brown paper bags with the graphic included on it. This product is differentiated and includes black and white copies
4. Rhyming PoemRead a rhyming poem that uses pictures to be read more easily.
Part 2: Imagery
1. Poetry Packet
Ten poems for children that use imagery. Some of them are original. Some of them are famous poems.
2, Color and Adjective Sorts
Students sorts colors into categories (red or yellow) Students also sort another list of words into (big and small)
3. Adjective Lists
Students name 7 things that are small, big, yellow or red. Talk about these lists as a class.
4. Color Poems
Students create a poem using the words from the lists.
Part 3 – Syllables
Several poems including an original by me to get students excited about poetry.
Students sort words into two or three syllables
Laminate these cards and have students clip whether the words has one, two or three syllables with a clothespin or color it in with a dry erase marker.
