A, and, away, big...big basketball player? big birthday cake? big trouble? Depending on the context, students who are deaf and use sign language sign it differently. The Fairview Adapted Dolch Program developed at the Mississippi School for the Deaf addresses these questions. I've used their program for years, but I've needed a better way to document. I've found this easier to use for data and for task analysis. Also, this checklist doubles as a cheat sheet, too. I can easily hand it to an assistant or student teacher and they get enough information from it to be able to get the needed data concerning the students' progress!
