This lesson explains the phonological deviancy pattern of Prevocalic Voicing. It explains, demonstrates, and provides practice items on how to determine if a word begins with an "ON" or an "OFF" sound. Placing one hand on the front of your neck allows students to feel any vibration during the production of that first sound. This provides kinesthetic feedback for the student. This lesson is written for Kindergarten/Early Elementary with a latter section aimed for students that are reading. This lesson is very concrete, multisensory, and explains/uses one of my tricks for helping children overcome Prevocalic Voicing.
